A Pandemic Internship: My Experience at Braque

I have to admit, I never thought that I would experience an internship during a pandemic. But against all odds, that’s what happened this summer. After a bit of uncertainty about the internship start date, I was finally virtually welcomed “with open arms” at Agence Braque on June 1, 2020.

It was definitely a new experience to become part of a group without any direct contact, but the entire team welcomed me warmly via my computer screen on my first day.

The four months following the start of my internship were surprisingly constructive; I was able to learn despite working remotely. Training periods allowed me to deepen my knowledge and use it in various situations.

I enjoyed a good measure of independence for each of the tasks that I was assigned, but my colleagues always ensured that I understood what I was doing and why it was useful. This helped me to collaborate with almost everyone at Braque on various projects and mandates, as well as having the opportunity to work with a client. I can say that everything that I accomplished as an intern will be very useful as I finish my studies, since I will be well ahead of my peers in terms of learning digital marketing concepts.

Beyond the more “serious” times at work, we also had opportunities to meet up via videoconference at the end of the week to unwind and check up on everyone. So, despite the fact that we were at a distance, there was always a team spirit and a feeling of belonging throughout my internship.

I would like to once again thank the entire dynamic Braque team for welcoming me under such exceptional circumstances and for making sure that I could enjoy an extraordinary internship experience!

Looking forward to meeting again soon,

Valérie
